I'm looking at both. Any suggestions? I need tractor and loader for 10 acres, 3 horses. Will move snow, scrape up lots, haul manure, drag pastures, etc. HELP!

The two machines are really in a different class. The JD equivalent to the DX33 would be the discontinued 4310 (they may still have them on the lot and may be willing to deal) or the newer 3320.
The JD 790 is a very solid machine. It's design is dated (and proven) but it's a bare-bones machine. IIRC, the only transmission available is the collarshift which requires a full stop to change gears. It has dry brakes, too, which don't generally last as long as wet brakes.
The DX33 is a newer design and has more power, flatter deck, more room, and a lot more features. It is available with a hydro transmission which is a great all-around easy to drive way to go. ....

To expand on JAZAK5, the 990 has the wet disk brakes and the 790 has the dry.
I went with the 790 because I didnt want a tractor that had lots of electric switches. Great machine. 128 hr since May-04
Using it how your looking too.
We could give you a better feel for the size tractor you new based on the size and types of attachment you are hoping to use...

I stand corrected on the 790 transmission. But the 790 has 27 hp, not 30. Unless you buy a used one made a couple of years ago. ....
